Eloise and Charlotte Cate are officially finished with school, and summer is upon us! Today we wrote out our first-ever Summer bucket list, and we are ready to start checking things off the list! Compiling the list got the girls excited and helped to add some fun to the monotonous rainy days we’ve had over the past week. If you haven’t made a bucket list with your little ones, I highly recommend it!

I can’t believe Charlotte Cate will be starting Pre-K soon! I am trying to soak up every last minute of having the girls home together before they are both in “big” school. Even when they get sick of each other, we are going to make this the best summer yet!

Since deciding on the name, Eloise, for my daughter over seven years ago, I knew I’d have to plan a trip with her to New York City to visit the Plaza hotel’s very own Eloise … because after all, that’s her namesake! It only made sense to visit the city when my Eloise was six because …

“I am Eloise. I am six. I am a city child. I live at the Plaza.” – Kay Thompson

My best friend, Erin, and I planned the girls trip for just the three of us (Charlotte Cate was too little to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city)! We visited just days before Christmas which added to the magic of this already magical city (think Home Alone 2: Lost in New York)!

While the trip was short, you can see it still allowed for us to see and do a lot, and it gave Eloise a great taste of the city. She’s a girl who really “gets it” as she said this trip trumps Disney World! What six year old says that?! Until next time NYC!
